Labor To Support Multicultural Communities In Swan

April 12, 2022

ANDREW GILES MP
SHADOW MINISTER FOR MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS
MEMBER FOR SCULLIN

ZANETA MASCARENHAS

LABOR CANDIDATE FOR SWAN

An Albanese Labor Government will deliver $30,000 to Hillview Intercultural Community Centre to help deliver networking events and activities for local employers and migrant job seekers.

The commitment, announced today by Labor candidate for Swan Zaneta Mascarenhas and Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Andrew Giles, will support the organisation in helping migrants and refugees find professional development opportunities and secure employment.

The events and activities will form part of the City of Canning’s plan to develop Hillview as Southern Hub for the Kaleidoscope Initiative and will assist employers in enhancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

This is part of Labor’s plan to deliver the support that our local communities need and deserve.

Comments attributed to Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Andrew Giles:

“Zaneta Mascarenhas is a fantastic local candidate who will be a strong voice for her community.

“The team that Anthony Albanese leads has been listening to community voices to ensure that migrant Australians emerge strong from the pandemic. Providing better opportunities for migrant Australians to gain employment is all part of our plan for a better future for multicultural Australians.”
