12 April 2025

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver $4.5 million to transform the Nick Ascenzo Reserve in Thomastown into an open recreation space, allowing more people within the community to have access to the reserve.

This election commitment would go towards a new fitness area, new multi-purpose sports court, scooter and BMX loop and will upgrade existing playground equipment.

The upgrade will be delivered in partnership with the City of Whittlesea.

People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds will benefit from the upgrade in the communities of Thomastown and surrounding suburbs.

The Nick Ascenzo Reserve is home to the Thomastown Scout Hall and the Nick Ascenzo Community Centre that service active community groups that will benefit from a more inviting environment and active space.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
