LABOR TO PROVIDE NEW TURBANS 4 AUSTRALIA COMMUNITY KITCHEN FOR THE NORTH-EAST

27 April 2025

Federal Member for Scullin, Andrew Giles MP today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will contribute $988,399 for Turbans 4 Australia to build a community kitchen and multicultural support centre in Thomastown.

This election commitment will support funding for a multipurpose community centre that will provide community support including nutritious and culturally sensitive meals, takeaway hampers with groceries and personal care items.

In particular, these facilities will help support members of our community experiencing hardship in the north-eastern suburbs building on the Albanese Labor Government’s commitment to ensuring no-one is left behind.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
